Massachusetts was one of the first states to enact a vehicle Lemon Law in the 1970's.

New and Leased cars are covered under the Massachusetts Lemon Laws. In certain circumstances used cars are also covered.

The law protects consumers with vehicles that have serious defects. The law defines a lemon as a motor vehicle

with a defect that substantially impairs the use, market value or saftey of the vehicle which has not been

repaired after a reasonable number of attempts.
